The Embassy of Pakistan in Tehran convened a Conference on Consular Affairs on 28 June 2026 under the chairmanship of H.E. Mr. Imran Ahmad Siddiqui, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran. The conference was attended by officers of the Embassy as well as the Consuls of Pakistan in Mashhad and Zahedan.
The meeting undertook a comprehensive review of consular matters and discussed measures to further strengthen coordination among Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in Iran. Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing the efficiency and responsiveness of consular and community welfare services through closer collaboration with the host Government, according to a Press Release by the Embassy.
The Ambassador underscored the paramount importance of the welfare of the Pakistani community and directed all Missions to deepen outreach and engagement with community members to ensure timely and effective delivery of consular assistance. The conference also deliberated on ways to facilitate bilateral trade and business by addressing procedural issues faced by business visa applicants and exploring practical measures to streamline visa-related processes. In addition, participants reviewed mechanisms to improve assistance to Pakistani pilgrims, students, prisoners, and other nationals requiring consular support, while emphasizing the need for greater coordination and the adoption of best practices to further enhance service delivery across Iran.
